Taylor Alison Swift was born December 13th, 1989. Her discography spans multiple genres, and her songwriting--often inspired by her personal life--has been praised by critics and received extensive media attention. Swift was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania and moved to Nashville when she was 14. In 2004, Swift signed a songwriting arrangement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. She also signed a recording contract with Big Machine Records. Her 2006 self-titled debut album was the first female country singer to record a U.S. platinum-certified album. Swift's next albums Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2011) explored country pop. The first album's "Love Story" and "You Are My Friend" were the first songs by a country artist to top the U.S. pop and all-genre airplay charts respectively. Red (2012) saw her explore electronic and rock styles. It featured her first Billboard Hot 100 number one song, "We Are Never Ever returning Together". The singer has also renounced her country style on 1989 (2014) the synth-pop album. This album was supported by chart-topping singles "Shake It Off","Blank Space, and "Bad Blood". The skepticism of the media inspired her album Reputation (2017) and its number-one single "Look What You Made Me Do". Swift quit Big Machine and signed with Republic Records in 2018. In 2018, Swift released Lover (2019) which was her seventh studio album. She was then followed by Miss Americana (2020), which is a documentary about her autobiography. Swift's 2020 albums Folklore (2019) and Evermore (2020) were her first ventures into indie and alternative rock. "Cardigan" was an album that ranked in the top ten, and "Willow" was an album that ranked in the Top 100. Swift began rerecording her six first albums to resolve a dispute regarding their masters. She launched two albums in 2021: Fearless (Taylor’s Edition) and Red. "All Too Well (10 minute version)" was the longest song to reach the top of the Hot 100. The album from 2022 Midnights was released, and the single "Anti-Hero", broke records for streaming time. Swift has also directed music videos and films like All Too Well The Short Film (2021) and All Too Well The Short Film (2021), as well as playing roles in many other projects. Swift is one if the most well-known musicians ever. Swift is the most streamed artist on Spotify. The five albums she has released have more than one million copies sold in the US. Her awards include 12 Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year winners and an Emmy Award; 39 American Music Awards and 29 Billboard Music Awards. She is also the holder of the record for 92 Guinness World Records. Swift is listed in Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest songwriters of All Time, and Billboard's Greatest of All Time Artists and also Forbes Celebrity 100 and Time 100. Swift, who was named Artist of the Decade and Woman of the Decade for her work in promoting artists' rights and women empowerment, has been honored with a variety of awards.
