Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor best famous for her character House in Fox's the medical thriller House. With a strictly Jewish upbringing she was able to move from Wayne into New York City when she was just 18 years old to go to the Tisch School of the Arts. Soon after, she was involved with club culture and caused enough fuss to attract the interest of the media. She eventually used her experience and her fame in order to compose and write a musical titled Positive Me in which she starred. Awake the Wild Side, a show she hosted for MTV became her first assignment. Following the end of the series her appearances began in the film and television industry, at first in small roles, and slowly established her acting career.
