Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with 12 other children. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the grim realities of life. Before she was able to read and write she was creating her own music. After 8 years of age, she was playing her first guitar. As a teenager she started singing on the radio station of Knoxville Tenn. In the same year when she began recording her debut album Gold Band Records an independent small label. She made a name for herself locally while still in high school, yet she dreamed of performing on a bigger stage. After graduating high school in 1964, she went to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer for his show that was syndicated until this point. Parton was hired in 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974 when her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their partnership with Wagoner she wrote the song"I'm Always Loving You and saw it climb to Number. 1. for the first time in 1974.
